Coaching is a partnership between client and coach in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires the client to maximize their personal and professional potential.

This is International Coaching Federation’s (ICF) definition of coaching. ICF is the largest global industry organization for certified coaches founded in 1996.

Coaching focuses on individual growth and development. Coaching is always tailored to each client and makes a real and measurable difference. The coach is there as a thinking partner to guide you forward. The coach encourages self-awareness through direct communication and asks powerful questions for you as a client to gain insights and find new solutions.

You can look at coaching as an investment in your life both privately and professionally.


A professional coach has completed an ICF accredited coach training and performed both an oral and written exam of his or her knowledge to obtain his or her coaching certificate. ICF International Coaching Federation is the largest global industry organization for coaches and maintains a very high standard for education providers and professional coaches. Coaching is fresh goods and therefore a professional coach maintains his or her quality standard through constant further education and continuous renewal of his or her certificate. A professional coach follows and masters ICF’s ethical guidelines and core competencies.

Get to know your coach before you start and check that the coach is professional. The professional title coach is not protected so check that the coach has a certification and that it is in force. Coaching is about partnership so important that both the feeling for your coach and the coach’s qualification are right.

It’s so amazing because there’s will, you can influence, most of it. We all have endless potential within us, which we can dig up with the help of coaching. Often there are obstacles that we work with. We are all leaders in our own lives.

You who are coached are responsible for wanting a development and change in your life and be prepared to take the steps you need to get there. Sometimes we need to take tiny steps, sometimes long strides or something in between.

A very important part of the work is done between coaching conversations in the form of reflection and the steps we have agreed on.

Therapy focuses on what has already happened, present and future. In therapy, one can work with deeper mental challenges such as depression, anxiety and trauma. Within therapy, one often works around a diagnosis.

Coaching focuses on present and future. In coaching, we work towards personal development and professional goals. It’s about preventing, developing and working towards flourishing and finding one’s full potential. We can work with perspectives, mental barriers and mindset.

It is common to go on coaching 1-3 times / month. What pace suits you is individual.

Sometimes you want to start testing right away. A session can be 30 min, 45 min or 60 min. The time you put on coaching gives multiple effect on both private and professional life. You are worth that time!
