Teamcoaching – with quality and professionalism

A team is not a problem that needs to be analysed and solved but a potential to be unfolded

-Daniel Meier 2005

We help organisations create the conditions for high-performing, healthy and collaborative teams through team coaching. Every team is unique. Every group is unique. Every individual is unique – which is why team coaching is always tailored to the team’s real needs and context.

Team coaching strengthens organisations by improving relationships, enhancing communication and building sustainable ways of working. It supports teams in directing their energy, creativity and motivation toward shared goals and a clearer sense of purpose.

This is not a quick fix. It requires dedication, consistent effort and active engagement from the team, individual members and the organisation as a whole.

Team coaching can be effectively combined with individual leadership coaching to increase impact and support both team-level and individual development.

"Team coaching is a partnership in a reflective and co-creative process with a team, its dynamics, and relationships in a way that inspires it to maximize its ability and potential to achieve its common purpose and goals."

- International Coaching Federation's (ICF) definition of team coaching.

Building Strong and High-Performing Teams

A high-performing team is a group of individuals who intentionally work together toward a shared goal – creating results that show up both in daily operations and in long-term organisational success. These teams have a clear purpose, shared accountability, complementary roles, and common values that guide them even in fast-paced environments.

Psychological safety is the foundation – a key element of leadership and teamwork that enables openness, productivity, and innovation. When team members can be themselves, share perspectives, and take constructive risks without fear of negative consequences, they gain the conditions needed for deeper collaboration and stronger performance.

Team coaching provides the structure and support to accelerate this development. The process invites the team to reflect on its strengths, goals, and priority development areas, combining insight with practical action – exactly what effective teams need to grow sustainably.

The team coach acts as a catalyst: creating the conditions for meaningful dialogue, clarifying direction, and strengthening collaboration and communication. The goal is for the team to take ownership, work together more effectively, and reach its goals in a sustainable and human-centred way.

Process, Focus Areas, Value - how a team develops in depth

A team coaching process typically extends over 6–9 months or longer, depending on the organisation’s needs and goals. It provides a clear and sustainable development pathway where the team systematically works on its collaboration, direction, and strengths – with visible impact on both performance and team climate.

Team coaching can be effectively combined with SDI assessments (Strength Deployment Inventory) for both individuals and teams. By clarifying motivational drivers, behaviours under stress, and relational strengths, the team gains a shared language that accelerates and sharpens the development work.

For even greater impact, the process can also include individual leadership coaching for team members or leaders. The combination of team coaching, SDI insights, and personal coaching creates a holistic approach that deepens self-awareness, strengthens sustainable change, and gives the team the best possible conditions to achieve its goals.

Examples of focus areas for team coaching:

  • Priorities
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Leadership communication or conflict style
  • Change management
  • Vision (team, individual, organizational)
  • Strengths, values
  • Feedback
  • Trust and respect
  • Result orientation
  •

Value of team coaching:

  • Space for the team to reflect
  • Prioritizing the need for focus
  • A non-judgmental space for dialogue and reflection
  • Strong focus on results and accountability
  • Development of leadership skills

We follow the ICF International Coaching Federation's ethical standards and core competencies for professional team and group coaching.

Is the team ready for coaching?

Team coaching is an investment in your shared development – but to create real impact, both willingness and readiness need to be in place. This short self-assessment helps you reflect on whether the timing is right.

Answer honestly – it’s not about being “perfect,” but about being curious, committed, and open to growing as a team.
It only takes a couple of minutes.
