Today we celebrate Entrepreneur’s Day in Finland! 🥳
I got curious and looked into the background of the day: The idea for Entrepreneur’s Day was born after the economic crisis in the early 1990s in Finland. Local entrepreneur associations wanted to give entrepreneurs more faith in the future and improve the conditions for entrepreneurship in Finland.
Sometimes I get asked what a typical day looks like for me as an entrepreneur and coach, so I thought I’d share one day from this week – a day that turned out really well!
🔷 Morning
🤸🏻♂️ The day started with a 10-minute morning yoga session with my wonderful yoga teacher Diana. A great start to the day!
⚖️ Reviewed a proposal for renewing my contracts with the law firm.
🎯 Prepared for a meeting regarding a proposal I sent to a company last week. Part of my preparation was to create a vision of how I’d like to feel after the meeting – to set the right energy.
The meeting went great, and the proposal was accepted! 🎉
🔷 Day
🐩🌳 A quick walk with the dog in the woods gave me a good feeling for the next meeting.
🛠️ Prepared for a leadership coaching session with a new client who wants to strengthen their team leadership in a new job.
💪🏻 Leadership coaching, where we used a strengths assessment as the basis for leadership development.
🔷 Afternoon
👓 Negotiations about contracts for individual and group coaching, which I had prepared for the day before.
🚗 I took our two youngest daughters to their piano lessons in Töölö, a task my caring father usually handles when he’s not at the summer house.
👩🏻💻 Continued working at Töölö Gymnasium, responding to emails, booking meetings, and writing this post.
🔷 Evening
🌹 Ended the day with both indoor and garden work in preparation for Saturday’s confirmation.
In summary, it was a very rewarding day – great, varied encounters and a nice mix of activities! Small breaks allowed for a change in perspective.
New, exciting projects for the fall and next year started today. The local entrepreneur associations’ goals were fulfilled – I gratefully and excitedly carry forward a sense of hope for the future as an entrepreneur! 🌟
